College in High School?

Faulkner State Community College (FSCC) and the Baldwin County Board of Education (BCBOE) are partners to allow high school students to take college courses while the student is still in high school!  Below are scheduled informational meetings intended for 9th-11th grade students and parents.  If you plan to take college courses during the Summer 2013, Fall 2013 or Spring 2014, plan to attend one of the following meetings:

  • Thursday, March 7, 2013 at 6:00 p.m. – Gulf Shores Campus, Frederic’s Restaurant
  • Tuesday, March 12, 2013 at 6:00 p.m. – Bay Minette Campus, Branch Business Center, Room B-111
  • Thursday, March 14, 2013 at 6:00 p.m. –  Fairhope  Campus,  Centennial Hall
Representation from Faulkner State Community College and from the Baldwin County Public School System will be available at each meeting to answer questions.  Information about 12th Grade English Dual Enrollment will be provided.  Information and application packets will be provided for the following programs:  1)  Accelerated Program (for those who have completed 10th grade and want to take classes in the summer and/or after school hours); 2) Senior Early Release (for seniors who want to take college courses); 3) Dual Enrollment (for juniors and seniors); and 4) Early College Enrollment Program (for juniors and seniors).

Additional note:  Terry Burkle,  Vice President, South Baldwin Chamber Foundation, Inc. will also provide information at the Gulf Shores meeting on scholarships for qualifying students from Robertsdale, Foley and Gulf Shores.
