Thank you for your interest in the Faulkner State Community College Paramedic Program! We are proud of our faculty and the quality of our program. Before making a decision to enter the paramedic program, we feel it is very important for you to have a clear understanding of the requirements and outcomes of your choice.

Please read the information contained in the Paramedic Application carefully. This packet contains all mandatory application requirements and deadlines. If you have any additional questions, you should contact John Santa Cruz for further information.


Minimum Admission Standards

  1. Completion of college admission requirements and good standing with the college.
  2. Completed Paramedic Application received in the EMS Department.
  3. High school transcript received in admissions, if no previous college courses taken.
  4. All college transcripts received in admissions.
  5. Minimum of 2.0 GPA in all previous EMS coursework.
  6. Asset scores show eligibility for English Composition and Math Applications (required if no previous college English Composition, or Math Applications or higher level math).
  7. Meet the essential functions required for EMS services.
  8. Asset Reading Exam score minimum of 40, or Compass Reading Exam minimum score of 76, or an ACT Reading Score of 17 or higher. Test results valid for past 3 years only. Test must be repeated if taken longer than 3 years ago. Submit test score with this application.
  9. Must have valid, unencumbered Alabama EMT License or the equivalent.
  10. Early admission deadline is December 15th. Applications received after December 15th will be considered on a space available basis.
