Faulkner State Community College Hosts 26th Annual Technology Fair – March 2010
Bay Minette, Alabama—-Over 1400 students, instructors and advisors attended the 26th Annual Technology Fair sponsored by Faulkner State College and the Alabama Council for Technology in Education (ACTE). Students ranging from grades 3 through 12 from over 40 schools in South Alabama competed in 15 categories that included computer literacy, multimedia, computer programming, hardware and robotics.
Winners included students from UMS Wright, Dodge Elementary, Baldwin County High School, St Paul’s, Hutchens, Pine Grove, Alma Bryant, Fairhope Middle, Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic School, St Mary’s, and Bay Minette Middle School. First and second place winners qualify to compete in the state computer fair in Montgomery on May 1. The coveted “Best of Fair” was awarded to North Mobile Christian School.
Dr. Charles Lake, Fair Coordinator said, “The Southern Region holds the biggest fair of all the seven other regions, and winners from our region have had the reputation of consistently winning at the State Fair. [Their success] is primarily due to the dedication of our local teachers, the motivation of the students, and the support that Faulkner State has provided over the past 26 years to the Computer Fair.”
