A veteran of 36 seasons as head coach of the Faulkner State Community College basketball fortunes, Jack Robertson has guided the Sun Chiefs to 705 wins and 385 losses. Robertson ranks top among all-time coaching wins in the state of Alabama and 4th among active coaches and 15th among the all time coaches in the National Junior College Athletic Association. His teams have won 2 state championships and been runner up three times. They have also won 11 Southern Division championships.

Robertson's best season was the 1991 team which won a state record of 32 games. The Sun Chiefs won the state championship and then finished sixth in the nation at the national tournament in Hutchinson, Kansas.

Coach Robertson is a graduate of Baldwin County High School and Marion Military Institute. He completed his bachelor's degree from the University of South Alabama and his master's degree from Troy State University. His first coaching job was at Robertsdale High School before moving to Escambia High School in Pensacola, Florida. He also serves as athletic director as well a chairman of the Health, Physical Education, and Recreation Department.

Many players have gone on to the next level after participating in the Faulkner program and been very successful in the business world. Pete Myers, who played for the Chicago Bulls is now an assistant coach the Bulls. Bart Rison is a head basketball coach in Kentucky. Leonard White has played in the CBA league. White is the all time leading scorer at Faulkner State.  Scott Bracco is head basketball coach at Dunwoody High School in Atlanta, GA, and his team won the 2005 and 2006 State Championship.

Robertson's wife of 37 years, Patsy, is a faithful follower of Faulkner State basketball. She is the curriculum specialist and counselor for the Upward Bound program at Faulkner State. They have 3 children: Robby, Melanee, and Renee. Robby teaches physical education at the Bay Minette Elementary School and is Assistant Coach at Faulkner State. He is married to the former Celeste Bagwell and they have two boys, Jackson, 2, and Cohen, 4 months.  Melanee graduated from the University of Alabama and received a Master's Degree in accounting from the University of South Alabama, and is now Vice President of Accounting at Harbor Financial Services in Mobile. Renee is a graduate of Jacksonville State University and now teaches 2nd grade at Bay Minette Elementary School.  She is married to Lucas Hall and they have a daughter, Ally, 3 months.
