Coach Pitts began her coaching career for the Sun Chiefs Women's Basketball Program in 1994. She earned a B.S. degree from Judson College in Marion, Alabama and an M.S. degree from Mississippi University for Women in Columbus, Mississippi, where she served as a graduate assistant coaching volleyball and softball.
She began her coaching career at the University of South Florida in Tampa in 1980. She has had coaching stints at Judson College and the University of North Carolina-Pembroke during her 28 year coaching career at the college level. She has coached five different sports on the college level and has coached at NCAA Division I, II and NAIA institutions. Her teams have made appearances in 4 National Tournaments, 2 in basketball and 2 in softball.
This season will be her 16th year as coach of the women's basketball program at Faulkner. Her team achieved a first ever national ranking for the Sun Chiefs in 1996. The '96-'97 and '97-'98 squad finished second in the state. The team placed third during the '00-'01 and '01-'02 seasons. The ‘06-‘07 team won the Southern Division Championship with a conference record of 13-1. The squad finished 4th in the State out of 15 teams with a record of 19-12.
