The Faulkner State Community College National Champion Cheerleading Squad held a stunt clinic on Saturday, October 23. The three-hour clinic, which was open to anyone interested in becoming a collegiate cheerleader, covered three key areas in the sport: stunts, baskets, and college pyramids. The clinic welcomed co-ed and all-girl squads from around the region.
Faulkner State Cheerleading Coach Celeste Robertson said the clinic was a huge success.
“We had people from as far away as Tampa, Fla.,” Robertson said. “That just shows how interested people are in these types of clinics.”
From ages 7 to 21, clinic attendees learned everything from basic skills to intense lifts to high-flying tosses.
Overall, the clinic provided an excellent opportunity for cheerleaders wishing to take their talents to the next level after high school.
