Record Enrollment for Spring 2010

Another record enrollment at Faulkner State!

Bay Minette, Alabama– Academic year 2009-2010 is proving to be a year to remember at Faulkner State Community College.  With enrollment records being broken, buildings under construction, and student involvement in classes and activities at an all time high, the College is experiencing history in the making.

This spring, the College hit a record enrollment.  More than 4,100 students have started classes either in the classroom on one of Faulkner State’s three campuses or in the comfort of their own home by means of an extensive selection of Internet courses.  Overall, the College’s spring enrollment increased 14% from the previous spring. This number does not even include the high school programs such as the Dual Enrollment, where high school students earn college credit.

To accommodate the steady increase of students, Faulkner State has made several additions to benefit the students’ learning experience.  On the Fairhope campus, construction on the new Health and Natural Science building has entered final stages.  The new building will include new state-of-the-art labs and classrooms, lounge space for studying, and the Sun Chief Den, which is equipped with a double-sided fireplace, two 52” flat-panel televisions and a vending area for mid-day, or night, snacks. The building has an estimated completion date set for late spring.

Whether it be in the classroom, on the campus or via the Internet, Faulkner State will continue to grow to accommodate its students.
