The residence halls fill quickly; you should get your application in as early as possible. You are not guaranteed a room, even if you lived on-campus last year.
For students wanting to live on-campus during the Summer Semester, the cost for a room is $1,500. Students must seek approval prior to the Summer Semester for entry to the residence halls during that semester. Contact the Housing Office for more information, 251-580-2121.
Sun Chief Hall
The cost of a room in Sun Chief Hall for one year is $5,400.00. Entry for students entering in the Spring will be $2,700 for Sun Chief Hall. All residence hall students are required to have a meal ticket for Fall/Spring semesters. Residence Hall Handbooks with a cover letter will be mailed out to all residents.
The average bedroom size is approximately 18′ x 18′ with each room consisting of two bedrooms and a bathroom. The bedrooms each have a full size closet; one bedroom has a sealed window with horizontal mini-blinds. Both bedrooms have cable TV access as well as full Internet access. Provided furniture includes a twin size loft bed with a three drawer under-bed chest, a five-drawer chest with locking top drawer (padlock or combination lock not provided), a four-drawer desk with cork board and desk chair, and a large wall corkboard. There is also enough space in the bedroom for a micro-fridge (not provided by Faulkner State). Smoke detectors as well as fire alarms are located in each room. Security cameras monitor each hallway and there is a Campus Police Officer on duty 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
The common area of the Sun Chief Hall includes such amenities as four gas fireplaces, a TV/media room, a game room, a kitchen, and a computer lab. Residents will also be assigned their own individual combination-lock mailbox located around the corner from the Information Desk in the common area.
Thompson Hall
A newly renovated residence hall is also located on the Bay Minette Campus. The cost of a room in Thompson Hall is $5,000. Entry for students entering in the Spring will be $2,500 for Thompson Hall. All residence hall students are required to have a meal ticket for Fall/Spring semesters.
Thompson Hall has a computer lab, a lobby area for students, and a game room with gaming stations. Smoke detectors as well as fire alarms are located in each room. Security cameras monitor each hallway and there is a Campus Police Officer on duty 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
