Student Organizations

Of course everyone knows “college” is about getting an exceptional education, attending top-of- the-line sporting events, and deciding on a career path. However, at Faulkner State, you will experience so much more. No one talks about the extensive amount of events and activities outside of the classroom you can participate in when you are deciding on a college. What else are you going to do with that spare time between pages of your Biology book?

At Faulkner State, you will find both active student organizations & socializing events that will get you acquainted with new friends and relationships.

At Faulkner State, you will find not only active student organizations, but numerous socializing events that will get you acquainted with new friends and irreplaceable relationships. With the creative planning of the Student Government Association, you will have opportunities to roast marshmallows over an open bon fire, shake a leg at a Homecoming Dance, test your limbo skills at the annual Luau, put your talents to use in the Talent Show, and even get that stomach-dropping thrill on a roller coaster during the Spring Fling.

At Faulkner State, you will find not only active student organizations, but numerous socializing events that will get you acquainted with new friends and irreplaceable relationships.

Sure, you want to stay close to home for your first few years of college, but at Faulkner State you will travel the miles to Gatlinburg on the annual student leadership retreat each spring. Test out the slopes of the snow-covered ski resort. Taste the rich flavors of the authentic Tennessee restaurants. Who knew you would be tightening your ice skate laces while you were “staying close to home”?  These activities are just a few that you will partake in as a Sun Chief. Others include: Bingo for Books, Fast Friends, Master of the Paddle (ping-pong contest), intramural sports, Big Man on Campus Contest, Miss Faulkner State Pageant, and many more!  Have great ideas for student events? Campus Residence Halls

With numerous record enrollments over the past semesters, Faulkner State has made additions to its Bay Minette campus to accommodate for on-campus living. In addition to our students who live off campus, several hundred students take advantage of our modern residence halls on our beautiful Bay Minette campus. For those interested in living on campus, Faulkner State has two residence halls: Sun Chief Hall, which houses 320 students and Thompson Hall, which houses nearly 150 students. Sun Chief Hall, the College’s newest residence hall, includes a large lounge area with double-sided fireplaces, a theater room, a game room complete with gaming stations, a computer lab with wireless Internet and Ethernet, and a kitchen open for student use. With a state-of-the-art design, this residence hall is guaranteed to be our students’ home away from home. Thompson Hall, the College’s newly renovated residence hall, has been completely redesigned and is already reaching maximum capacity each semester. Like Sun Chief Hall, Thompson Hall also includes a high-tech computer lab, game room with consoles and social areas for students to gather. Both residence halls are co-ed, but students are separated by floors or foyers. Students living on campus have meal plans to eat in the, also newly renovated, Sun Chief Grill. This cafeteria facilitiy has meals like none other. After having an opportunity to eat in the Grill, students will agree that it is not a typical “cafeteria.”

On-campus and commuting students have access to the Student Union, which is equipped with a ping-pong table, billiard tables, lounge space and high-definition televisions. The Union is also used for special events throughout each semester, such as dances and game nights. The Back-to-School Luau, Spring Homecoming Dance, and Halloween Costume Ball are just a few of the great events students can participate in during their time at Faulkner State.
